When our good friend Chris Lembo approached us with the idea of giving away his old camera gear we knew we had to do something special. The decision to hold a competition to give it away was the obvious choice but we couldn't have predicted how much interest it received and how supportive everyone has been of the competition in general. We were absolutely blown away by the quantity and quality of entries and, to be honest, the task of viewing, organising and judging all of them has been a massive one! We got there in the end and, after much deliberation, we're beyond stoked to announce the winners of the 2020 LUXBMX Video Comp...
It was a tough call to pick a winner from all the amazing entries but in the end, it was Archie Kenward that our judges all agreed on. The edit has an awesome vibe, is perfectly paced, extremely well filmed and creatively makes use of a mix of cameras with some excellent custom animated titles to boot. Archie wins the camera setup and we can't wait to see what he can produce with it in the future.
Finn Maurer's entry had one of the most creative concepts of the bunch with the theme being one continuous shot in one location. We'd definitely love to see more like this! Props Finn!
Boris Tribunsky's edit embodies BMX perfectly and what we think an edit should be. Great vibe, super fun with a bunch of antics. We loved the music and the raw feel.
Massive thanks to anyone that put in the effort to submit a video for the competition. We were blown away by the number of entries and the amount of talent and quality that's out there in the BMX world.
We had so much great feedback from the competition and we can't wait to have some more in the future to celebrate the more creative aspects of BMX. Stay tuned!
