Press Fit (PF) Bottom Brackets
Press Fit bottom brackets are mostly found on modern race frames. Bearings or cups press straight into a wider, larger-diameter BB shell with no threads, so you get a stiff, light connection between frame and cranks. That stiffness puts more of your power into the pedals out of the gate. PF bottom brackets come in a range of shell sizes and spindle diameters, commonly 24mm and 30mm, to match your race cranks. They install with a bearing press for a tight, creak-free fit.
