Description

It's the early evening, the air in the Buranda triangle is still, things are quieting down for the day. From the shadows a shrill and piercing call can be heard. A sea of birds and wildlife scatter to the skies. The Balkan Eagle has arrived. With the streets cleared, the ledges waxed and the moustache stroked, the night is finally ours.

Features

Renato Rancso signature frame. The Colony signature frame from the backwards manual king of kings, with graphics designed by Ferenc Zoltan Demjen.
Full 4130 chromoly build. Heat treated integrated head tube, heat treated mid bottom bracket and heat treated 6mm dropouts at the spots that cop the most abuse.
Ovalised down tube. Shaped to resist dent abuse, with unique gussets at the bottom bracket and seat tube junctions for the same reason.
Smaller dropouts for hang free grinding. Less to catch on a ledge, and the built-in chain tensioner holds your wheel where you set it.
Wide rear for 2.4" tyres. Room for a fatter tyre out back, plus a built-in seat clamp with a replaceable nut and bolt.

The height bands overlap on purpose. If you land in two of them, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park. Plenty of riders, pros included, deliberately ride longer than a chart suggests.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.
