Description

For the production of their Railhop bmx cranks, Stress BMX used Japanese Sanko heat-treated steel which is the best steel available on the market. Stress are so confident in their Stress Railhop cranks that they come with a Lifetime warranty!

STRESS developed and introduced a gusset on cranks back in the 2013, which was produced to make cranks stronger, as well as to reduce the number of injuries to the medial malleolus. The gusset smoothes out the angles, practically excluding the possibility of getting a deep cut. For the production of the gusset, chromoly steel is used, which is cast in a special form. Then it is welded over the entire mounting area of the cranks to the spindle. Then the top of the seam is further polished to create a flat and smooth surface.

STRESS shortened the profile of the crank by 10% compared with the first version. According to their calculations, this change reduced the frequency of ankle injuries by about 40%.

Features

22mm spindle, 2.5 piece. A 2.5 piece crankset on a 22mm spindle, so check your bottom bracket takes 22mm before ordering.
165mm or 175mm arms. Two lengths available, so you can match the crank length you already run on your bike.
Sprocket mounts either side. The sprocket bolts on to the drive side or the non drive side, whichever way you set the bike up.
Gusset guards your ankle. A cast chromoly gusset is welded over the arm to spindle join and polished flat, which Stress say cut ankle injuries by about 40%.
Japanese Sanko heat-treated steel. Cr-Mo 4130 Sanko steel backed by a lifetime warranty, at 907 grams with the bolts fitted.
