Race Chainring Bolts
An innocuous component, chainring bolts are often overlooked as a simple part of your bike, until you look down and see a couple missing! Or you go to change your gearing and you find that ONE bolt seemingly welded together leaving you sweating as you get closer your moto. So it pays to replace your chainring bolts once a year along with your chain as part of regular maintenance. Plus it's always good practice to have a spare set of bolts just in case.
When buying your chainring bolts, make sure you scope out your set up to check whether you need the "shorter" or "longer" bolts. Each crank and chainring combo vary in overall width. Some manufacturers even include in the package a set of both the short and long male bolt.
Chainring bolts come in aluminium alloy, chromoly and weight saving titanium. More powerful riders should definitely be running chromoly or titanium, while the little tackers will be fine with aluminium chainring bolts.
