18 Inch Bikes

18 inch BMX bikes are perfect for the rider that isn't quite big enough to throw around a full sized BMX bike. 18 inch bikes are generally suited best for riders that are around 122cm - 147cm tall and 7-11 years of age. This is the size where the big tricks start happening so it is important to get the bike that most matches your style! Make sure you know what you're shopping for and read our Size Guide.

This range of high end 18-inch BMX bikes here at LUXBMX in Brisbane, Australia are designed for BMX freestyle. They typically have a smaller frame and wheels than traditional BMX bikes, which makes them more agile and easier to manoeuvre. They are also designed with stronger components to withstand the demands of performing tricks and shredding. We stock bikes from brands that we trust, so these aren't your typical department store bikes, these are designed with BMX in mind which means that they are much better and of a higher quality. Bike size guide

An 18 inch bike suits a rider of about 122 to 147cm, usually 7 to 11 years old, on an 18 to 18.5 inch top tube. It is the last step before a full size 20 inch.

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between an 18 and a 20? Take the 20. It is the size they will keep riding, and an 18 gets outgrown quickly.
  • They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
