The BSD M-Cap came about because Dan Paley was fed up of breaking plastic bar ends, but did not want the hassle of screw in ones. His answer was a push in bar end with a metal surround.
The part that hits the ground is metal, and so is the part between the bars and the bar end. The centre is a nylon push in, so you get the ease of a push in cap with the life of a metal one.
