The Federal Aero XL is a 40mm wide rim made from the same AL6066 aluminium as the Stance XL. With most riders now running brakeless, Federal used an oval teardrop section to build what they call their strongest rim to date.

The extra depth of that oval shape also makes it more resistant to flat spots from heavy landings than a traditional rim. It stands 22mm tall, weighs 575g and comes with blue 35mm wide XL rim tape in the box.

Oval teardrop section. The new teardrop design adds strength and reduces flat spots, which Federal rates as their strongest rim to date.
Holds up to heavy landings. The added depth of the oval shape resists flat spotting better than a traditional rim section when you case one.
40mm wide, 22mm tall. A wide 40mm bed supports the tyre, and the 22mm height is where the extra depth comes from.
6066-T6 aluminium. Built from the same AL6066 aluminium Federal uses on the Stance XL rim.
Rim tape included. Blue 35mm wide XL rim tape comes with it, sized to suit the wider rim bed.
