Description

The Fit 57 is Shane Halahan's frame, made in the USA. Now that the youngest of Pennsylvania's Halahan boys has beefed up, the 57 is the meatier transition machine that came out of it.

It is designed to be stable and manoeuvrable on big jumps and concrete parks alike: 74.25° head angle, 71° seat angle, 11.57" bottom bracket, 8.75" standover and a rear end from 13.57" to 14". Two top tube lengths, 21.25" and 21.5", and 2.40 kg on the scales.

Features
  • US-made dirt and park frame. Designed to be stable and manoeuvrable on big jumps and concrete parks alike.
  • Long 21.25" and 21.5" top tubes. Room for taller riders, with a rear end from 13.57" to 14" so you can set how the bike turns.
  • 74.25° head angle, 11.57" bottom bracket. Settled at speed on big jumps, with a 71° seat angle and 8.75" standover keeping the frame out of the way.
  • 5" integrated Campy-style head tube. A tall head tube with the key logo engraved into it, running an integrated headset.
  • Welded chainstay brake mounts. Mounts are welded to the chainstay and ready to go if you run a rear brake, on 14mm dropouts.

The height bands overlap on purpose. If you land in two of them, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park. Plenty of riders, pros included, deliberately ride longer than a chart suggests.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
  • Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.
