Description

The Kenny Racing Elite range of helmets have been specifically developed for BMX racing with the key considerations being safety whilst retaining the lightest weight possible. The injected plastic shell has 16 vents parts for a better air circulation and a removable and washable inner lining.

The biggest headlines might be the weight, at under one kilo it is one of the lightest BMX race helmets available! And that most of the Elite range is available in triple extra small for your tiniest racer with the XXXS helmet sizing down to 49-50cm.

Helmets of this quality and size range are extremely hard to find in a BMX specific design, and Kenny has obviously used their experience to bring this Elite helmet range to market at a family friendly price while not sacrificing safety.

Kenny Elite race helmet sizing

Kenny's BMX helmet chart. Measure 2.5cm above your eyebrows.

SizeHead circumferenceNotes
XXXS49–50cm
XXS51–52cm
XS53–54cm
S55–56cm
M57–58cm
L59–60cm
XL61–62cm

Two shell sizes: XXXS to M share the small shell, L and XL the large. Ranges leave 1cm gaps between sizes: if you land in a gap, take the larger size.

How to measure

Wrap a soft tape measure to measure the circumference (around) your head an inch (2.54cm) above your eyebrows. Keep the tape level front to back around the widest part of your head. Keep it level and snug but not tight. If you don't have a measuring tape, use a piece of string, shoelace, spaghetti* or snake** then lay it out on a table and measure it with a ruler.

*Make sure the spaghetti is cooked or the snake is asleep.

**LUXBMX does not recommend using a snake to measure the circumference of your head. (It's a joke)

Between two sizes? Most helmet brands recommend the larger size and using the thicker set of pads. A helmet should feel snug all round with no pressure points, and shouldn't rock when you shake your head.
