While welded rims are typically viewed as superior that was compared to the pinned rims of the past that were not considered high-end. The Odyssey Quadrant rim was designed with an entirely new pinned junction. The cross section shows the four pins, two in the beads and two at the outermost corners of the rim's inner diameter, unlike other pinned junctions that use 2 pins, in random placement. The 4 pins in these areas forms a significantly stronger joint. The Odyssey Quadrant rim is made of 6061 T6 Alloy which is still stiff and strong but keeps the price down. At 420grams the Quadrant rim is the lightest rim Odyssey produces.
