At just 349 grams, the Pride Matrix 10mm Rear undercuts the Onyx Ultra SS by over 200 grams. Not an insignificant amount! Pride has focused on developing their Matrix hubs to have near instant engagement, or close enough. These hubs give the Inspyre elite team riders the confidence to run them at the highest level of BMX racing competition, we see plenty of them at World Cups and World Championships. Testimony to their strength and performance.

The core of the hub is a  system is based on two rows of 6 pawls, totalling 12 pawls, operating alternately. This mechanism achieves 216 points of engagement, with an ultra-low engagement angle of 1.67°, for near-instant pickup with every pedal stroke.
