Description

This 40mm stem from Salt is at home at the skatepark or the race track for a short reach shredder. It is a mid loading design in 6061-T6 alloy with a forged finish, and the 40mm extension has a central bore to cut weight.

Reach is 40mm, rise is 24mm, clamping is 22.2mm and it runs a 1 1/8" steerer. The short reach is specific to 16" and 18" BMX bikes, and STC (Shark Tooth Clamping) holds the bars.

Features
  • Short reach at 40mm. A 40mm extension pulls the bars back for smaller riders on 16 inch and 18 inch bikes.
  • Mid load design. The mid loading front plate is the common BMX layout, so bars go in and out without pulling the whole stem apart.
  • Shark Tooth Clamping. STC teeth bite into the bar clamp area for maximum grip, so the bars stay where you set them.
  • Bored out to save weight. A central bore through the extension takes weight out of the front end of a little bike.
  • Standard sizes throughout. Fits a 1 1/8" steerer with a 22.2mm bar clamp, so it suits a normal BMX front end.
