Description

The THD is S&M's updated Holy Diver. It started life as an all-around frame and has evolved into their most street-specific model, with 1/4" thick, compact, heat-treated dropouts that offer exceptional strength and ample peg clearance. The taller head tube reduces the need for extra stem spacers, so the front end looks cleaner and feels more solid.

THD stands for Tall Holy Diver, and the 9.25" standover is set to sit more proportionately with that taller head tube. S&M have also spread the top and down tubes apart for added stability and added a thicker .049" straight-gauge ThermalX down tube to resist denting. All brake mounts have been removed for a sleeker look, and Hoder designed new stickers to finish it off.

The height bands overlap on purpose. If you land in two of them, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park. Plenty of riders, pros included, deliberately ride longer than a chart suggests.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.
