Description

The 2020 V3 Stay Strong frame is an all new,100% re-design from the previous Stay Strong models. Not one tube carries over from the V1 or V2 frames, and the company has built on the strengths that these frames have become known for. The V2 alloy frame features hydroformed 6061-T6 tubing with triple butted down & top tubes, double butted chain & seat stays adding strength while saving weight. Stay Strong have once again managed to find extra frames stiffness while also reducing weight.

Stay Strong's Pro sized frames feature a tapered 1.5 head tube, Press Fit bottom bracket (PF30), 20mm rear dropouts with 10mm & 15mm adaptors and built in chain tensioners included. The V3 is a disc ready frame with a disc brake hanger adapter available (sold separately). The frame can also run with conventional V-Brakes with its shaved and hidden mounts. The frame uses a 31.6mm seat post which reduced weight whilst helping improve stiffness . The smooth welds also help give the all new water decals and logo a clean look. This low, triangular shaped frame has a modern look with overall balanced stiffness, combined with the weight saving the V3 frame will help you reach your racing goals in 2020.

  • Tapered head tube, PF30 shell. A 1-1/8 to 1.5 head tube, press fit bottom bracket and 31.6mm seat post cut weight and help stiffness.
  • Disc ready, or run V-brakes. Take the disc brake hanger adapter, sold separately, or use the shaved and hidden mounts for conventional V-brakes.
  • 20.75" top tube at 1.58kg. 20mm rear dropouts come with 10mm and 15mm adaptors and built in chain tensioners, so the frame suits the hubs you already run.

Heights overlap between bike sizes on purpose. If you fall in two size categories, a growing rider new to racing is usually better suited to the larger bike, a experienced rider who wants the bike to more responsive should err on the smaller size. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark. Just don't guess their height either, you know how fast they can grow!

Here are some tips

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size, but make sure you check the top tube length of the bike. The length of top tube for a given size (Expert XL as an example) can vary up to a half inch or more across brands. Most Expert XL frames are 20", but we've seen them as long as 20.7"
  • Experienced racer and wanting the bike to be more responsive? Take the smaller size. You want the bike to be "under you", not a stretch to the bars and cranks.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.
