A Terrible One 2024 Skapegoat Frame in brown, featuring integrated chain tensioners, leans against a stone wall with green plants in the background.

Highlights

  • Elf and Scerbo's Skapegoat, unchanged
  • Removable seat clamp included
  • Six top tube sizes
  • Clearance for 2.4" tyres

Description

No need for changes on Elf & Scerbo’s frame other than the addition of the non-integrated seat clamp & some new colors.

We will be doing these in Gloss Black, Gloss Clear Raw, & a semi-gloss Pale Brown. The brown is very in keeping with the color tones we’ve done on the Skapegoat in the past.

Features
  • Elf and Scerbo's Skapegoat, unchanged. No changes were needed to the frame itself, so it is the same 75° head angle and 8.85" standover as before.
  • Removable seat clamp included. The non-integrated clamp comes with the frame, and T1 found this style both tightens and holds better than an integrated one.
  • Six top tube sizes. From 20.25" to 21.5", with the 21.5" getting a 0.25" longer rear end to keep it balanced.
  • Clearance for 2.4" tyres. Room for tyres up to 2.4" and sprockets from 25T to 30T, all of which clear the brakes.
  • Gusseted, with a wishbone chainstay. Top tube and down tube gussets and a chain stay wishbone, on 6mm dropouts with integrated chain tensioners.

Specifications
  • Sizes: 20.25", 20.5", 20.75", 21", 21.25", 21.5" top tube
  • Chainstay: 13.35" to 13.8", the 21.5" has a 0.25" longer rear end

  • Standover: 8.85" (middle of BB to middle of TT)
  • Bottom bracket height: 11.75"

Top Tube Length - 20.25

20 inch BMX frame sizing

Frames are sized by top tube length. Start with your height, then let riding style decide where in the range you land.

Rider heightTop tube
147 to 157cm19.75 to 20.25"
157 to 168cm20 to 20.5"
168 to 175cm20.25 to 20.75"
175 to 183cm20.5 to 21"
183 to 190cm and up20.75 to 21.5"

The height bands overlap on purpose. If you land in two of them, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park. Plenty of riders, pros included, deliberately ride longer than a chart suggests.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
  • Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.

Not sure? Tell us your height and how you ride, and we will tell you what we would put you on.
