Retro Mongoose BMX's in store now!
Mongoose is without a doubt the most recognisable BMX brand in the world. It transcended the race and freestyle world and into popular culture by way of movies in the 80s (BMX Bandits anyone?) and more recently the Netflix series Stranger Things. Any Aussie kid that was a teenager in the early 80s that rode a bike almost certainly was riding a BMX, and even if they weren’t into racing, Mongoose was already an iconic brand by this time.
- Mongoose's advertising was some of the raddest in BMX.
The Mongoose Supergoose was the frame that racers upgraded to after they broke their mild steel Malvern Star or Madisons, with these American-made Mongoose frames and bikes manufactured in California from the mid-1970s from 100% USA Chromoly.
Fresh into the LUXBMX store are these faithful reproductions of the 80’s icons, the Mongoose Supergoose and California complete bikes, with the LUX Crew tearing them out of the boxes for a closer look and building them straight up, impressed with the attention to detail like the colours of the tyres, pads and the quality of the finishes on a bike retailing at this price point.
BMX wouldn’t be where it is today without the pioneers like Mongoose and here’s your chance to grab a slice of history, and reminisce about your childhood when you didn’t need to be home until the street lights came on. All you needed was your chrome Mongoose and a gutter to jump off to make you happy. Simple times, big smiles and no mortgage. Take yourself back with one of these.
