Description

The Academy Aspire is an amazing entry level freestyle BMX bike that boasts CrMo bars, sealed hubs and sealed mid BB all of which make this bike quite easy to keep dialed in for many years of use. The 20.75" TT is a great size for many riders so they wont grow out of it in a year of riding the bike.

Features
  • Entry level freestyle, built to last. Chromoly bars, sealed hubs and a sealed mid bottom bracket keep the Aspire easy to keep dialled in for years of riding.
  • 20.75" top tube fits most riders. A size plenty of riders can grow into rather than out of after a single year on the bike.
  • Sealed bearings front and rear. Academy alloy sealed hubs run a 9T cassette driver on a 14mm rear axle, so there is less fiddling between sessions.
  • 3-piece chromoly cranks, 170mm. Tubular CrMo cranks turn a 25T sprocket on a sealed mid bottom bracket, putting the strongest parts where the abuse lands.
  • Cockpit and rolling gear sorted. Academy chromoly bars at 9.0" rise and 28.5" wide, a 50mm top load stem, double wall 36H alloy rims and 2.3" tyres, 12.2 kg all up.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the same as the length of the tube you can see.

  • A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
