The BSD MCaps were born because Dan Paley was fed up of breaking plastic bar ends but didn't want the hassle of screw in ones, that's when he came up with the idea of the M-Cap, a push in bar end with a metal surround. The part that hits the ground is metal as it the part between the bars and bar end. The best of both worlds
