Chase Bicycles have raised the performance bar in the mini-wheeler class with a full aluminium frame on the Chase Edge Balance Bike. Running CrMo forks, this 12 inch bike will rip up the mini-wheeler class, or tear up the local pump track as your smallest learns to balance and send it before progressing to their first pedal bike. There's not a lot of parts to a balance bike, but Chase have loaded theirs up with quality and along with the durability that these materials bring to the table, this no doubt will be one of the lightest balance bikes on the market. So whether it's heading to race track, or the back yard, the 2022 Chase Edge balance bike will be something your little one will have fond memories of when they look back at their first taste of freedom as they fly down your driveway.

Features

Full aluminium frame, CrMo fork. Chase raised the bar in the mini-wheeler class with a triple butted hydroformed 6061 T6 alloy frame and a full chromoly fork with 1" steer tube.
One of the lightest around. There are not many parts on a balance bike, so Chase loaded theirs with quality: durable materials that make this one of the lightest on the market.
Sealed bearings, hubs and headset. Chase Edge Mini hubs on 3/8" axles with double contact sealed bearings and an integrated sealed bearing headset: smooth rolling and steering with less maintenance.
Kenda Kontact 12" x 2.25" tyres. Wide 2.25" Kendas on Chase Edge 012 single wall 16H rims, with grip for the pump track, the race track or the driveway.
Mini cockpit, sized to fit. A 40mm Chase Edge stem, Chase Edge bars and a Chase Edge Mini combo seat, so your smallest rider can learn to balance before their first pedal bike.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.
