Description

Built around a lightweight 6061T6 alloy frame with appropriately sized geometry, the Colony Horizon 18 is made for younger, smaller riders starting out. Progression and having fun with BMX come naturally on it, across every style of riding.

The parts kit is proper BMX: a chromoly fork and chromoly bars, 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks on a sealed mid bottom bracket, sealed bearing hubs with a 9T cassette driver and a rear brake fitted. All up it weighs 9.4 kg.

Features
  • Lightweight 6061T6 alloy frame. The Colony Horizon 18 frame runs a 17.9" top tube and a 12.0" rear end, sized for smaller riders starting out in BMX.
  • Geometry that suits younger riders. A 75.0º head angle, 71º seat angle and a 48cm standover keep the bike easy to handle and easy to get on and off.
  • Chromoly fork and bars. Tapered CrMo fork legs and 8.0" rise, 25.5" wide chromoly bars put the strong stuff where the front end takes the hits.
  • Sealed bearings front and rear. Alloy hubs on 10mm axles with a full sealed bearing cassette and 9T driver out back, so the wheels keep rolling with less fuss.
  • Ready to ride at 9.4 kg. 140mm 3-piece tubular CrMo cranks, mid sealed bottom bracket, 25T sprocket and a 990 style rear brake with a short reach lever.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.
