Features

Built for the first-bike chapter. Training wheels, a bolt-on chain guard and a coaster brake come standard, so little ones can get comfortable and learn to balance while pedalling.
Lightweight aluminium frame and rims. At 7.8 kg it is easy for little riders to handle, and easy for parents to load into the car or hang up in the garage.
Tool-free seat height adjustment. A quick release seat clamp lets you raise or lower the 1-piece padded seat and post combo without tools as they grow.
Coaster brake and full-coverage chain guard. Safety-first features that make the Devo easy to ride: pedal backwards to stop, and the chain stays covered while they learn.
Steel training wheels with reinforcement bracket. Included with PVC wheels for the learning phase; when the big day comes, take them off and set them free.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

A 16 inch bike suits a rider of about 96 to 122cm, usually 4 to 7 years old, on a 16 to 16.5 inch top tube. It is the size most kids learn to ride properly on.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. At this wheel size the top tube barely changes the fit: go by height, and check they can stand over the bike flat footed.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between two wheel sizes? Go up. Kids grow into a bike far faster than they grow out of the fun.
They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
