Eclat's problem with thin pedals was the spindle: keep the profile low and you usually give up axle strength. Rather than take an off the shelf spindle, they developed their own, using a smaller caged bearing and staying thicker close to the crank arm where the strength is needed most.
The result is a super low profile pedal, 25mm at its highest point, on a chromoly 9/16" spindle built to take the force of today's riding. The injection moulded nylon and fibreglass body has a knurled top surface, and the removable steel pins let you set the grip you want.
