Description

Here's a wheelset to suit any BMX racer's budget. Track tested and rider approved, the new the Excess XLC-1 wheels are available in three sizes from Junior/Expert 20 x 1.3/8, Pro 20 x 1.50/1.75 and up to 24 x 1.50/1.75" (Cruiser). The Excess XLC-1 wheelset features a rear Cassette Hub with a 3 pawl, single engagement system, to a 24 ratchet ring inside the rear hub. The XLC-1 also uses exclusive Excess rims that offer 2 different rim profiles that feature a low profile, Double walled 6061 T6 Alloy rim with Optimized Internal Geometry for light weight and optional strength.

This wheelset is versatile too! The rear hub offers the option for you to be able to convert it for use with a disc brake! Excess is able to offer this by allowing you to be able to accept a disc brake via an optional Disc Center Lock adapter! This gives you the best of both worlds. The wheels are set up out of the box for V Brakes, but you can upgrade to Disc at anytime without getting a new rear hub!

For the front hub, Excess also offers a front Axle Conversion kit to change it from the stock 3/8 to 20mm! The wheels are delivered with a 3/8" (10mm) front axle set up, but with the upgrade of the optional front 20mm hub conversion kit, you can convert the front hub to 20mm, allowing you to be able to use a 20mm dropout fork!
All the wheels feature new graphics, Black Anodised finish, and 2 unique different Rim Profiles.

Features

Built as a cruiser set. The 507 x 19.5mm Excess rim takes 24 x 1.50/1.75 tyres, so it suits a cruiser race bike straight up.
V brake now, disc later. It arrives set up for V brakes, and the rear hub swaps the alloy lock ring for an optional Centre Lock disc adapter.
Front axle converts to 20mm. It is delivered with a 3/8 inch front axle, and the optional conversion kit lets you run 20mm dropout forks.
Sealed bearings front and rear. Two sealed bearings up front and four in the rear hub keep grit out on a wet track.
Stainless spokes, brass nipples. Laced with 14G stainless spokes into brass nipples through angled nipple holes, with Excess rim tape already fitted.
