Description

The Fiend Type O 20 Inch Bike is yet another epic bike from Fiend. Chockers full of clean and sturdy parts creating a sleek rig that you will want to show off! The Type O was designed and spec'ed for the beginner rider wanting features from higher end models at a budget-friendly price. The Type O frame has a chromoly top and down tube and features include the Type O fork with a chromoly steerer tube, 3-piece chromoly cranks with a sealed Mid bottom bracket, a fully sealed 14mm rear cassette hub, an embossed 1-piece Fiend seat/post combo, 2.4” street style tires and Fiend flangeless Team grips.

Features
  • Spec'd for the beginner rider. The Type O takes features from Fiend's higher end models and puts them on a first proper BMX.
  • Chromoly top and down tubes. The Embryo frame runs a 20.5" top tube and 12.75" chainstays, with chromoly in the tubes that work hardest.
  • Chromoly steerer, tapered fork legs. The Type O fork puts the strength up front where the bike takes the landings.
  • 3-piece chromoly cranks, 165mm. Spinning on a sealed Mid bottom bracket, the sort of setup you normally find further up the range.
  • Sealed 14mm cassette hub. A Mission Siege cassette with 9T driver on X7 rims and 2.4" Innova street tyres, 11.2 kg all up.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the same as the length of the tube you can see.

  • A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
