Description

The Supernova 18" is one of the best Fly complete bikes for younger shredders from 7 to 12 years. It comes with 100% chromoly bars, frame and the new cone shaped forks, so the parts that take the hits are the strong ones.

On top of that the Supernova is fully equipped with the Fly aftermarket parts that suit an 18" bike: fully sealed hubs, Fuego 18" tyres, 3-piece Trebol cranks and removable brake mounts, plus 18" specific parts like the Fly Mini brake lever, Fly Ruben II Mini grips and the 40mm Mini stem. It all adds up to a bike made for the youngest riders at any level.

Features

100% chromoly frame, forks and bars. Full 4130 chromoly through the frame, the new cone shaped forks and the bars, with removable brake mounts for a clean look.
Sized for 7 to 12 year olds. A 17.5" top tube, 11.6" chainstays and an 8" standover keep everything in proportion for a younger rider.
18" specific cockpit. A Fly Mini brake lever, Fly Ruben II Mini grips and a 40mm Trebol Mini top load stem, so small hands can reach and hold on.
Trebol 3-piece chromoly cranks, 152mm. Short chromoly arms on a sealed Spanish bottom bracket, with a CNC machined 25T Trebol sprocket.
Fully sealed hubs and Fuego tyres. Sealed bearing hubs on semi-double walled Trebol rims, wrapped in Fly Fuego 18" rubber.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

An 18 inch bike suits a rider of about 122 to 147cm, usually 7 to 11 years old, on an 18 to 18.5 inch top tube. It is the last step before a full size 20 inch.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. If your rider is near 147cm and still growing, look at a 20 inch instead: it is the size they will keep riding.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between an 18 and a 20? Take the 20. It is the size they will keep riding, and an 18 gets outgrown quickly.
They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
