Description

The Inspyre Neo race bike range is this brand's entry level race bike and is more than enough bike for a beginner rider looking to hit the track for the first time, or mixing it up in club racing.

With a fully sealed set up, hubs, bottom bracket and headset, this bike is durable and ensures easy maintenance. With these critical components being sealed, dust and dirt is kept at bay, meaning that other than keeping air in the tyres and the chain clean and lubed you spend more time riding, and less time maintaining. This level of componentry also means that when your rider out grows their mini Inspyre it can be handed down to the next rider in the family, or passed onto another BMX mad family with confidence that there will be plenty of laps left in this race bike from this revered French brand.

Inspyre has earned the trust of racers from years of experience of manufacturing race bikes and race frames The knowledge garnered from being track side and receiving feedback from some of the best in the world is passed down through their line of BMX race bikes and frames, with improvements seen every year.

From the Neo micro right through to the cruiser, there's a bike in this range for every sized rider right from the littlest 3 or 4 year old, up to the 180cm tall racer.

Highlights of the Neo range continue to shine. Along with the sealed bearings of the critical moving components, the 6061-T6 aluminium frame and chromoly forks are at the leading edge at this price point. This combination brings lightweight and strength, along with double-walled alloy rims that will give the rider the confidence that the bike under them has the same component elements as bikes two and three times the price.

Available in two contrasting colours, the Neo might just be the perfect first race bike.

Assembly information

Your race bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Spin the rear wheel and check the rotor runs clear of the calliper
  • Check the brake and tyre pressure before the first ride

Disc brakes: keep your fingers off the rotor and pads, because oil from your skin contaminates the braking surface and takes the bite away. If the rotor rubs, loosen the two calliper bolts, squeeze the lever, then tighten them again with the lever held on. Bed the brake in with a few firm stops before you race it.

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm spanner for the pedals. Check your axle hardware, since race bikes vary between bolt-on nuts and a thru-axle.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
  • Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.

Not sure? Send us their height and we will tell you what we would put them on.
