Description

The Curb is a beginner's 20 inch BMX built to be ridden hard. Frame and fork are 100% Hi-Ten steel, and the 20" top tube is on the short side, which makes the bike easier to throw around while you are still working things out.

The parts kit is mostly Mission: Cease V2 brakes, a Warsaw combo seat, Tracker 2.4" tyres on X7 rims and a Function semi-sealed cassette hub. The Mission Triumph 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks are the important bit, putting the strength where the bike takes the most abuse.

  • Solid first bike, built for shredding. A 100% Hi-Ten steel Kink Curb frame and Conduit fork with a short 20" top tube: easy to get started on, and tough.
  • 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks. Mission Triumph 170mm cranks on an 8 spline axle put the strongest part of the bike where it takes the most abuse.
  • Wide 2.4" Mission Tracker tyres. On Mission X7 rims, they give plenty of grip on rough concrete and dirt.
  • A roomy, comfortable cockpit. An 8.75" Kink T875 bar, a Mission Control topload 50mm stem, Kink Ace grips and Kink Thrust bar ends.
  • Full Kink and Mission parts kit. A 9T cassette hub, Mission Breach 25T sprocket, Cease V2 brakes and a Mission Warsaw combo seat, all up 12.3kg.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

  • A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
