Description

The Kink Downside is a street build: 100% 4130 chromoly frame and Relay fork, a Mission Pace sealed freecoaster, Kink Ridge 3-piece tubular chromoly cranks and four Mission nylon pegs straight out of the box.

Every bearing is sealed, both hubs come with guards, and the cockpit runs Kink Foundry 9.5" TruTherm bars, a Brute 48mm stem, Form grips and Thrust bar ends. Mission Cease V2 brakes sit on removable mounts. It weighs 12.67kg and comes in Deep Purple.

  • Mission Pace sealed freecoaster. Roll backwards without the cranks turning, so fakies and half cab lines come easy on the Downside.
  • Four pegs and guarded hubs. Both hubs come with guards and the bike ships with four Mission nylon pegs, so it is ready to grind either side from day one.
  • Full 4130 chromoly frame and fork. The Downside frame is tapped for gyro tabs and pairs with the Kink Relay fork, tapered legs and 25mm offset, all 100% chromoly.
  • Kink Foundry 9.5" TruTherm bars. Heat treated 4130 chromoly with Thrust bar ends and Form grips for a tall, comfortable cockpit.
  • 3-piece cranks, sealed mid BB. Kink Ridge 165mm tubular chromoly cranks, a CNC 7075-T6 Imprint 25T sprocket and a sealed mid 19mm bottom bracket. 12.67kg in Deep Purple.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
