Description

The Whip is a full sized BMX with a 100% 4130 chromoly frame and fork, so the strength runs through the whole bike rather than just the front end. It is fully sealed as well: a Mission sealed integrated headset, a sealed mid 19mm bottom bracket and Mission Foxtrot and Engage sealed hubs.

This is the regular Whip, with a 20.5" top tube for medium sized riders, and it also comes with a 21" top tube. Kink Ridge chromoly cranks, Kink Sever 2.4" tyres on Mission Mylar rims and a Duran Stealth seat on an integrated clamp bring it in at 12.62kg.

Features
  • Full 4130 chromoly frame and fork. Chromoly right through the Kink Whip frame and Circuit fork, so the strength is not limited to the front triangle.
  • Sealed bearings everywhere that matters. A Mission sealed integrated headset, sealed mid 19mm bottom bracket, Foxtrot sealed front hub and Engage sealed cassette rear hub.
  • Kink Ridge chromoly cranks. The 3-piece tubular chromoly 170mm cranks drive a Mission Charge 25T 6061-T6 sprocket and a sealed 9T driver.
  • Medium 20.5" top tube. Sized for medium sized riders, with 13.25" chainstays and a 75° head tube angle. A 21" top tube version is also available.
  • Clean, integrated finish. An integrated seat clamp, Kink Duran Stealth seat, Mission Stealth post, Kink Form grips and Mylar rims, all up 12.62kg.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the same as the length of the tube you can see.

  • A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
