Description

The 2025 Meybo Pro XXL Patron is based upon the company's HSX frame and covered in its sister brand's SD Racing components. We build a lot of ground up custom race bikes here at LUX and we can confidently say that at this price, we couldn't come close to replicating the value here.

With SD carbon rims, we can't think of another bike that comes spec'd with this type of rim as standard and for an out of the box race bike, there's nothing that you would need to change, save for slapping a set of HT clips pedals before heading to your next race.

Features

  • Carbon rims as standard. SD M58 20 x 1.75" carbon 25mm rims, which is not something you see on an out of the box race bike.
  • HSX hydroformed aluminium frame. The Patron is built on the HSX 6061 frame with a 22" top tube and covered in SD Racing parts.
  • SD V2 Pro carbon fork. Tapered 1-1/8" to 1.5" with a CNC steerer and 20mm dropouts, matched to a 20mm through axle front hub.
  • Shimano MT501 hydraulic brake. Hydraulic stopping power on a race bike, so the lever feel stays predictable through a long day of motos.
  • Nothing to change but pedals. It rolls on Wellgo LU-313 platforms, and we would only slap on a set of HT clip pedals before the next race.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

BMX race bike sizing

Race frames are sized by class, and the class you ride is set by rider height rather than age.

Pro XXXL175cm and up22"
Pro XXXXL180cm and up22.5"
Cruiser (24" wheels)175cm and up21.5" and up

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
  • Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.

Not sure? Send us their height and we will tell you what we would put them on.
