Description

The team behind the Meybo brand from the Netherlands know how to win, and know how to spec a complete BMX racing bike that can be rolled out of the shop and straight onto the gate.

The 2025 Meybo Superclass range is a winning bike, from the Junior right up to the Pro 23. For 2025 the Superclass range receives SD carbon forks across all the bikes

A great bike for tall riders.

For the 6 foot plus rider, Meybo offers one of the only solutions in the complete, off the shelf, 20” race bike with a 22” and 23” top tubed frame size. Not so long ago a rider this tall would be forced to spend thousands building out a custom race bike from the frame up, but no more as Meybo has seen a gap in the market and filled it with these two Pro bikes.

Awesome components.

Each bike in the series from the Junior up to the Pro Cruiser comes equipped with SD B-85 cranks, plus SD bars and stem. Additional goodness includes Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and Tioga Powerblock tyres.

Plus killer looks. There’s not much we’d change except for slapping a set of HT clip pedals on there if that’s your game.

Attention to detail is what we like and the two Meybo Superclass expert bikes both run the correct 20 x 1-1/8th and 20 x 1-3/8th tyre spec which is exactly how we would build a custom bike based on these frame sizes. The crank lengths are spot on for them as well. Like we said, this Meybo crew knows how to build out race bikes that are perfect for the intermediate to expert rider. They are perfect too for the older rider that’s returning to BMX racing after a long break looking for a bike that has the ability to take them from a club race to the national level racing. The Meybo Superclass is that versatile.

Features

  • Built for six foot plus riders. Meybo is one of the few brands making a complete, off the shelf 20" race bike with a 22" top tube.

  • Shimano MT501 hydraulic disc. A 120mm disc with a light lever pull, so your braking stays consistent across a full day of motos.
  • SD B-85 cranks, 175mm. Outboard bearing cranks with a 44T chainring and 16T cog for a 53.54" gear.
  • Long, stable 15.20" chainstay. Paired with a 74° head angle and Tioga Powerblock 20x1.75 tyres on double wall eyelet rims.

Assembly information

Your race bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Spin the rear wheel and check the rotor runs clear of the calliper
  • Check the brake and tyre pressure before the first ride

Disc brakes: keep your fingers off the rotor and pads, because oil from your skin contaminates the braking surface and takes the bite away. If the rotor rubs, loosen the two calliper bolts, squeeze the lever, then tighten them again with the lever held on. Bed the brake in with a few firm stops before you race it.

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm spanner for the pedals. Check your axle hardware, since race bikes vary between bolt-on nuts and a thru-axle.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

BMX race bike sizing

Race frames are sized by class, and the class you ride is set by rider height rather than age.

Pro XXXL175cm and up22"
Pro XXXXL180cm and up22.5"
Cruiser (24" wheels)175cm and up21.5" and up

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
  • Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.

Not sure? Send us their height and we will tell you what we would put them on.
