Description

Bikes are available for Pre-Order now and are due to arrive in-store late March* for pick-up or shipping. These sold out quickly last year, so jump on one now before they're gone as there is just the one shipment bound for Oz.

* Arrival dates are an estimate even though we have confirmed port dates. As always, sea freight shipments are influenced by weather events and custom's processes.

Another year of development, and the returning 2026 Meybo Clipper range continues to grow stronger in presence out there on race tracks across the world. Building on the success of the past several years, the Clipper range of complete race bikes are for us, one of the best value entry level race bikes on offer here at LUXBMX.

We love the Meybo brand for its attention to race specific attributes of a complete bike, like frame geometry. The type of know-how that goes into manufacturing one of the world's most raced carbon frames (the HSX) definitely trickles down through all of Meybo's frames and bikes.

Sealed bearings all round means that maintenance time is cut down, and if happen to live somewhere where you race in the rain a lot, then you'll appreciate that these vital components are a little more protected.

This Meybo Expert Clipper is the perfect race bike for the rider jumping into BMX racing for the very first time with well thought out component specs perfectly matched to this sized frame. It's geared right straight off the floor, and the component specs mirror how we would build up a custom bike of this size. Thoughtful touches like 130mm grips for small hands and 1-1/18 steerer, fork set up adds strength to the front end of the bike in key stressed areas of the bike.

If this is your rider's first new race bike, then prepare to see plenty of smiles as they unlock their potential out there on the track.

Features

  • A proper first race bike. A 19.7TT Clipper Expert with component specs matched to the frame size, built the way we would build a custom bike this small.
  • Sealed bearings all round. Less maintenance for you, and better protection for the hubs and bottom bracket if your track sees a lot of rain.
  • Geared right off the floor. 39x16 gives 50.70" through SD Expert 155mm cranks on an outboard sealed bearing bottom bracket, so nothing needs changing to race.
  • 130mm grips for small hands. Lock-on grips at a length a young rider can actually wrap their fingers around, on an SD alloy Expert bar and 40mm stem.
  • Tektro Mini 316 AG brake. A short reach mini brake that suits smaller hands, paired with Vee Speedbooster 1-3/8 tyres on double wall eyelet rims.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

BMX race bike sizing

Race frames are sized by class, and the class you ride is set by rider height rather than age.

Pro XXXL175cm and up22"
Pro XXXXL180cm and up22.5"

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
  • Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.

Not sure? Send us their height and we will tell you what we would put them on.
