Description

Another year of development, and the returning 2026 Meybo Clipper range continues to grow stronger in presence out there on race tracks across the world. Building on the success of the past several years, the Clipper range of complete race bikes are for us, one of the best value entry level race bikes on offer here at LUXBMX.

We love the Meybo brand for its attention to race specific attributes of a complete bike, like frame geometry. The type of know-how that goes into manufacturing one of the world's most raced carbon frames (the HSX) definitely trickles down through all of Meybo's frames and bikes.

Sealed bearings all round means that maintenance time is cut down, and if happen to live somewhere where you race in the rain a lot, then you'll appreciate that these vital components are a little more protected.

This Meybo Junior Clipper is the perfect race bike for the rider jumping into BMX racing for the very first time with well thought out component specs perfectly matched to this sized frame. It's geared right straight off the floor, and the component specs mirror how we would build up a custom bike of this size. Thoughtful touches like 115mm grips for small hands and a one inch steerer, fork set up helps keep the weight down.

If this is your sprocket's first bike, then prepare to clock plenty of wins as they hose the competition on this deadly machine

Features

  • A first race bike, done right. An 18.75TT Clipper Junior with parts chosen to match the frame size, the same way we would build a custom bike this small.
  • One inch fork and steerer. The SD Mini 1" fork keeps weight off the front of the bike, which matters when the rider is light.
  • 115mm grips for small hands. Short lock-on grips and a 1" 40mm stem put the controls where a junior rider can reach them.
  • Sealed bearings all round. Hubs and bottom bracket stay sealed against water and grit, so there is less time in the shed between race nights.
  • 145mm cranks, matched gearing. SD Expert 5 hole cranks on an outboard sealed bearing bottom bracket, geared 37x16 for 46.71" straight off the floor.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

BMX race bike sizing

Race frames are sized by class, and the class you ride is set by rider height rather than age.

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
  • Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
  • Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.

Not sure? Send us their height and we will tell you what we would put them on.
