Description

Buying a bike for your child can be daunting, so Radio built the Zuma range around one simple idea: a kid sized mountain bike. The geometry is researched around smaller riders, and the 16 inch sits early in a range that runs all the way to 26 inch, a balance between learning the basics and riding off road.

The frame and the straight rigid fork are both 6061-T6 alloy to keep the weight down, the rims are double wall, and the parts come from Promax, KMC, FSA, Vee Rubber and Satori. Promax mechanical discs front and rear handle the stopping, so it looks, feels and rides like a full size MTB.

Features

  • Kid sized mountain bike, 16 inch. Radio built the Zuma for smaller riders learning the basics, with geometry researched around them rather than borrowed from an adult bike.
  • Alloy frame and rigid alloy fork. Both are 6061-T6, so the bike stays light enough for a young rider to handle on their own.
  • Promax mechanical discs, front and rear. DSK-310 disc brakes with alloy BL-367 levers, so stopping does not depend on a heavy pull.
  • Cockpit built for small hands. A Satori bar with 19mm griptube and 1" rise, a 30mm frontload stem and 100mm flanged Junior grips.
  • Children specific aftermarket components. Parts from Promax, KMC, FSA, Vee Rubber and Satori, picked so the bike suits the rider's size perfectly.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.
