Description

Buying a bike for your child can be daunting, so Radio built the Zuma range around the idea of a kid sized MTB. The geometry is researched for smaller riders, sitting between a bike a child can learn the basics on and a more capable MTB for off road weekend rides with the parents.

The Zuma range runs from 14" for a first time rider up to 26" for the aspiring rookie. This 24" suspension model gets a 6061-T6 alloy frame, an RST First-Air fork with 80mm travel and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes at both ends, so it looks, feels and rides like a full size adult MTB.

Features

  • A kid sized MTB, not a shrunken one. Radio researched the geometry around smaller riders, so the Zuma 24 fits properly rather than just being a scaled down adult bike.
  • RST First-Air fork, 80mm travel. Suspension up front takes the sting out of rough off road tracks so a young rider can hold their line and keep the pace up.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes, front and rear. Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic discs pull the bike up with light finger pressure, which matters most when the hands are small.
  • Light 6061-T6 alloy frame. The alloy Zuma 24 frame keeps the weight down, so the bike is easy to lift, pedal and steer for a smaller rider.
  • Cockpit scaled to smaller hands. 130mm flangeless grips, a 1" rise 31.8mm alloy bar and a 45mm reach frontload stem bring the controls in close.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.
