Description

Buying a bike for your child can be daunting, so Radio built the Zuma range around one simple idea: a kid sized mountain bike. The geometry is researched around smaller riders, and the range runs from 14 inch for the first timer up to this 26 inch machine for the aspiring rookie.

The frame and fork are alloy to keep the weight down, the rims are double wall, and the parts come from Promax, KMC, FSA, Vee Rubber and Satori so the fit suits a smaller rider. An RST air fork with 80mm travel and Tektro hydraulic discs front and rear mean it looks, feels and rides like a full size MTB.

  • Kid sized mountain bike, not a toy. Radio researched the geometry around smaller riders, so the Zuma looks, feels and rides like a full size adult MTB.
  • Lightweight 6061-T6 alloy frame and fork. The Zuma alloy frame keeps the weight low, so a young rider can lift and handle the bike on their own.
  • RST air fork, 80mm travel. The First-air fork soaks up rough ground on weekend off road rides with the parents.
  • Tektro hydraulic discs, front and rear. HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes run from alloy Promax BL-42 levers, part of the child specific parts kit.
  • Cockpit sized for smaller riders. A 45mm frontload stem, a 1" rise alloy bar with 31.8mm bore and 130mm flangeless grips keep the reach short.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.
