It was only a matter of time before Radio Raceline started to produce complete race bikes to shake up the traditional race bike market, The Radio Raceline Quartz Pro XL is the second size offered in the 3 bike Quartz range. With a Pro XL+ top tube length at 21.25 inches, this lightweight hydro-formed frame is spec'd with some very impressive parts like the Radio Solar carbon fork and hydraulic disc brakes. We've seen nothing for 2021 that comes even close to matching this race bike on both frame geometry design and materials utilzed. Add to that that Radio have nailed the colourway and graphics and we'll be lucky if any are left by the time you finish reading this description!

Features

Radio Raceline Solar carbon fork. Carbon legs on a 1-1/8" to 1.5" tapered steerer with 32mm offset, a big part of why this bike comes in at 9.00 kg.
Hydraulic disc brake, rear. A 120mm rotor and a two finger lever let you scrub speed with a light pull instead of a handful.
Pro XL+ 21.25" top tube. The second size in the three bike Quartz range, with a 14.85" chainstay and 11.6" bottom bracket height.
Tubeless ready wheels. Argon Pro flash welded 36H rims and foldable Oxygen tyres are both tubeless ready, laced to fully sealed Turbine hubs.
180mm Xenon Pro cranks. Cold forged alloy arms on a 24mm spindle with 44x16 gearing for a 53.63" ratio, and clip pedals bolt straight on.

Assembly information

Your race bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Spin the rear wheel and check the rotor runs clear of the calliper
Check the brake and tyre pressure before the first ride

Disc brakes: keep your fingers off the rotor and pads, because oil from your skin contaminates the braking surface and takes the bite away. If the rotor rubs, loosen the two calliper bolts, squeeze the lever, then tighten them again with the lever held on. Bed the brake in with a few firm stops before you race it.

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm spanner for the pedals. Check your axle hardware, since race bikes vary between bolt-on nuts and a thru-axle.

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
Top tube is the number that actually changes the fit, so compare it against the bike they ride now.
