NEW FREERIDE 148X12MM VERSION! The wait is over. Radio MTB-specific Sonar Freecoaster Hub is here. Using the patented Wethepeople BMX “HYBRID” Freecoaster system it creates a totally new type of freecoaster hub that functions unlike anything else. Fully convertible into a regular cassette hub with no extra parts.


Based on a similar construction to a regular cassette hub, the Radio Sonar Freecoaster Hub offers a super lightweight, simple-to-adjust Freecoaster hub with the durability advantages of a cassette hub. With a much larger (and fully adjustable) slack system, and a “MagnaDrive” magnetic pawl retention system, the Sonar Freecoaster requires little to no maintenance compared to the heavy and unreliable clutch-style freecoasters of the past. On top of that, it helps to eliminate pedal kickback on full-suspension bikes.


Despite the advantages of a Freecoaster hub, the Sonar Freecoaster Hub weighs 33% less than most Freecoaster hubs and offers zero friction and resistance making it one of the smoothest and fastest rolling hubs out there, no matter if you’re going forwards or backwards.

Features
  • Fits 148 x 12mm frames. Built for trail and enduro bikes running 148mm rear spacing and a 12mm thru axle, laced 32 hole.
  • Freecoaster or cassette. It converts into a regular cassette hub with no extra parts, so you can change your mind after it is built.
  • Shimano HG freehub body. The 35mm HG driver takes a standard Shimano cassette, and the brake side uses a 6 bolt rotor mount.
  • MagnaDrive pawl retention. Magnets hold the pawls instead of a clutch, so it needs little to no maintenance compared to older clutch style freecoasters.
  • 300g and zero drag. A third lighter than a conventional clutch style freecoaster, and the adjustable slack helps kill pedal kickback on full suspension bikes.
