The Mini Lifer is S-One's small shell for kids and small adult heads, sized by nominal head size in inches. Three liner thicknesses come in the box.

Between sizes? S-One says go larger and use the thinner liner. Over 52cm the standard Lifer starts at XS. Not every colour comes in XXL and XXXL.

How to measure

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your head, about 2.5cm above your eyebrows and just above your ears. Keep it level and snug but not tight, and read the number in centimetres.

No tape measure? Use a piece of string or a shoelace, mark where it meets, then measure the string against a ruler.

Between two sizes? Most helmet brands recommend the larger size and using the thicker set of pads. A helmet should feel snug all round with no pressure points, and shouldn't rock when you shake your head.
