Description

The Wethepeople Audio 22” is the perfect middle ground—bigger, faster, and more stable than a 20”, without losing that BMX feel. Built around a full 4130 chromoly frame with a longer rear end, it’s made to stay planted when you pick up speed.

A butted crmo fork with 32mm offset keeps steering sharp, while the 22” wheels carry speed and smooth out rough lines. Loaded with Salt and Éclat parts—from sealed hubs to a 3-piece crank—it’s a tough, reliable setup ready for real riding.

About the Brand

Wethepeople BMX began making its mark on history almost 15 years ago. Designing the first rough drawings of their frames and forks around the same time as the world started to see BMX in a different light, a time when rails were first grinded and the possibility that riding the streets was in fact the true way forward. To achieve their aims, Wethepeople knows exactly how to deploy their strengths with an efficiency that is unmatched in the BMX industry.

Features

  • The middle ground between sizes. Bigger, faster and more stable than a 20", without losing the BMX feel, thanks to a full 4130 chromoly frame with a longer rear end.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

22 inch BMX sizing

A 22 inch is a BMX with a bigger wheel, for riders about 160cm and up, on a 21 to 22.25 inch top tube. It is a different ride feel rather than a bigger frame for taller riders.

Rider heightWheel sizeTop tube
60 to 91cm12"12 to 12.5"
81 to 106cm14"14 to 14.5"
96 to 122cm16"16 to 16.5"
122 to 147cm18"18 to 18.5"
147 to 157cm20"19.75 to 20.25"
157 to 168cm20"20 to 20.5"
168 to 175cm20"20.25 to 20.75"
175 to 183cm20"20.5 to 21"
183 to 190cm and up20"20.75 to 21.5"
160cm and up22"21 to 22.25"
160cm and up24"21.75 to 22"
160cm and up26"22 to 23"

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. A big wheel rides longer than its top tube number suggests, so do not compare it straight against a 20 inch.

How to measure

Stand against a wall in the shoes you ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of your head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Choose a big wheel for the ride feel, not because you are tall. Plenty of tall riders stay on 20 inch.
  • Coming off a 20 inch? Expect it to feel longer and more stable, and slower to spin.

Not sure? Tell us your height and how you ride, and we will tell you what we would put you on.
