Description

The Avenger is back! 27.5inch wheels will have this stylish monster truck rolling over just about anything and the super strong frame and parts included in this build will ensure you feel in control the whole time! Disc brakes will lock it up when needed and the huge knobbly tyres will give you loads of grip when tearing up the trails. These things are absolute beasts!

Our hybrid clunker machine mixes the old with the new. Big wheels = big fun.

A mix of the old and the new, our 27.5” clunker is something unique to say the least. Taking our BMX heritage and combining it with modern MTB technology, the Avenger is perfect for smashing it down the single track on the weekend or just getting from A to B in style. With an injection of aftermarket parts from Shimano, WTB and FSA the Avenger is also stacked with some very special components we designed specifically for this bike based on some of our favourite parts from our mid-school BMX roots. The full chromoly frame, fork and bar keep the Avenger tough and agile, whilst the larger 27.5” wheels with 2.30” tires allow you to tackle any terrain in your path.
We spent a lot of time on the Avenger this model year and we couldn’t be prouder of what we created; A bike which is as fun to look at as it is to ride and if you’re looking for the ultimate weekend machine then look no further!"

About the Brand

Wethepeople BMX began making its mark on history almost 15 years ago. Designing the first rough drawings of their frames and forks around the same time as the world started to see BMX in a different light, a time when rails were first grinded and the possibility that riding the streets was in fact the true way forward. 27.5 inch clunker. Big wheels roll over just about anything, mixing BMX heritage with modern mountain bike technology.
Hydraulic disc brakes. Clarks hydraulic brakes on fully sealed disc hubs lock it up whenever you need them.
Full chromoly frame, fork and bar. 4130 Cr-Mo through the whole front end keeps the Avenger tough and agile at 14.88kg.
42T to 18T gearing. A CNC alloy Patrol sprocket and an 18T cassette cog cover the single track and the ride into town.
WTB Ranger 2.25" tyres. Big knobbly tyres on double wall 27.5" rims give loads of grip when you are tearing up the trails.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Top Tube Length - 24.5

A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and suits riders from about 147cm up. At this wheel size the top tube is what changes the fit, so pick that by height.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. If you land in two bands, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the same as the length of the tube you can see.

A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
