Description

Recently the CRS 18inch has dazzled the BMX world with it's top of the line parts, features and epic geometry. We are stoked to see that it's back and better then ever! Salt Rookie Tubular Chromoly Three Piece Cranks, Sealed Bearings throughout the bike, strong parts and loads more makes this a young shredders dream bike! This "FS" version is the "Freestyle" version- the addition of a gyro allows for multiple barspins and tailwhips to be sent without those pesky brake cables getting tangled up (this is very handy for competition use!) If your kids are taking BMX seriously then they need a serious bike- the CRS 18 FS.

About the Brand

Wethepeople BMX began making its mark on history almost 15 years ago. Designing the first rough drawings of their frames and forks around the same time as the world started to see BMX in a different light, a time when rails were first grinded and the possibility that riding the streets was in fact the true way forward. Gyro equipped from the box. A Salt AM rotor lets barspins and tailwhips go round without brake cables tangling, which is handy for competition use.
Chromoly down tube, full park geometry. 18" top tube, 11.65" chainstay and 75° head angle on a 4130 crmo down tube: the popular CRS 18 shape, built without compromise for younger riders.
Salt Rookie tubular chromoly cranks. 152mm 3-piece chromoly cranks on a sealed Salt Spanish 19mm bottom bracket, with a 25T steel Gateway sprocket and Eclat Surge pedals.
Sealed bearings throughout. Fully sealed Salt AM hubs front and rear, a 9T cassette driver on a 14mm axle and a sealed Salt Pro integrated headset.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

An 18 inch bike suits a rider of about 122 to 147cm, usually 7 to 11 years old, on an 18 to 18.5 inch top tube. It is the last step before a full size 20 inch.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. If your rider is near 147cm and still growing, look at a 20 inch instead: it is the size they will keep riding.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between an 18 and a 20? Take the 20. It is the size they will keep riding, and an 18 gets outgrown quickly.
They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
