Description

Wethepeople built the Trigger with their am team, mixing adaptive geometry and tougher materials into a street frame meant to suit any rider. The geometry changes as the top tube length grows, with longer chainstays and a higher standover on the longer frames, so a taller rider gets a bike that fits rather than a stretched version of the small one.

Tubing is Japanese seamless 4130 chromoly, butted, with extra-thick plain gauge sections for dent resistance, top tube and down tube gussets and larger 1.8mm welding at the head tube. The head tube is 127mm tall at 75.75°, the wider rear triangle clears a 2.4" tyre, and the frame is brakeless. It comes with a lifetime guarantee.

About the Brand

Wethepeople BMX began making its mark on history almost 15 years ago. Designing the first rough drawings of their frames and forks around the same time as the world started to see BMX in a different light, a time when rails were first grinded and the possibility that riding the streets was in fact the true way forward. To achieve their aims, Wethepeople knows exactly how to deploy their strengths with an efficiency that is unmatched in the BMX industry.

Features

  • Adaptive geometry across the sizes. Chainstays get longer and the standover rises as the top tube grows, so the frame suits the rider rather than the other way around.
  • Extra-thick plain gauge tubing. Japanese seamless 4130 chromoly with thicker walls for dent resistance, plus top tube and down tube gussets for durability.
  • 127mm head tube at 75.75°. A tall, offset CNC machined and heat-treated head tube with larger 1.8mm welding, so you run fewer spacers with an uncut fork.
  • Clearance for a 2.4 inch tyre. The rear triangle is wider than usual, so a fat back tyre fits without fouling the frame.
  • Peg and hub guard friendly dropouts. Laser cut and CNC machined 6mm heat-treated chromoly dropouts with a chain tensioner bolt, shaped to suit pegs and hub guards.

Top Tube Length - 20.5

20 inch BMX frame sizing

Frames are sized by top tube length. Start with your height, then let riding style decide where in the range you land.

Rider heightTop tube
147 to 157cm19.75 to 20.25"
157 to 168cm20 to 20.5"
168 to 175cm20.25 to 20.75"
175 to 183cm20.5 to 21"
183 to 190cm and up20.75 to 21.5"

The height bands overlap on purpose. If you land in two of them, riding style breaks the tie: longer for flow, trails and transitions, shorter for technical street and park. Plenty of riders, pros included, deliberately ride longer than a chart suggests.

How to measure

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the length of the tube you can see. Measure your current frame that way and compare.

  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions.
  • Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed once you buy, but chainstay length, stem length, fork offset and bar position all change how the built bike feels.

Not sure? Tell us your height and how you ride, and we will tell you what we would put you on.
