Wethepeople Audio 22 Bike

The big rig is back and ready to set sail on the tracks, parks, trails and anywhere else you can think to take it! With scaled up geometry this thing will ride just like a 20! Made from strong and lightweight parts you will feel nimble and agile on this beast. Check the specs tab for a list of parts that will blow your mind!

A game changer and leader of the 22” movement.

The Audio is built around a larger 22” diameter wheel, providing a more stable ride without sacrificing the classic BMX look and feel. Perfect for the die-hard trail dogs, just or taller riders looking for bike more fitting to their size, without having to ride a bike that simply isn’t a BMX.
Using the full chromoly aftermarket spec frame, we designed a fork with an even sturdier and bombproof steertube/crown area allowing you to push this thing as hard you you can. We spent an incredibly long time dialing in the geometry on the Audio, as well as developing our own range of 22” specific parts like the Logic rim and Overbite tire.
A bike which will surprise you in how well it rides, the Audio is leading the pack in the 22” revolution.

About the Brand

Wethepeople BMX began making its mark on history almost 15 years ago. Designing the first rough drawings of their frames and forks around the same time as the world started to see BMX in a different light, a time when rails were first grinded and the possibility that riding the streets was in fact the true way forward. To achieve their aims, Wethepeople knows exactly how to deploy their strengths with an efficiency that is unmatched in the BMX industry.

Features

  • Built around 22 inch wheels. The larger wheel gives a more stable ride without giving up the classic BMX look and feel.
  • Scaled up for taller riders. A 21.9" top tube and 14.2" chainstays fit riders who want more bike without leaving BMX behind.
  • 22 inch specific parts. Wethepeople developed the double wall Logic rim and the 2.3" Overbite tyre for this wheel size.
  • Full Sanko chromoly frame. Aftermarket spec tubing with tapered stays, plus a fork with a sturdier steerer and crown area to push against.
  • Light at 11.73kg. Sealed Salt Ex hubs, a sealed press fit mid and sleeved rims keep it quick and easy to live with.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Rather have it done? Ask us about extra assembly before you order, or any local bike shop can finish the build for a small fee.

22 inch BMX sizing

A 22 inch is a BMX with a bigger wheel, for riders about 160cm and up, on a 21 to 22.25 inch top tube. It is a different ride feel rather than a bigger frame for taller riders.

Rider heightWheel sizeTop tube

160cm and up22"21 to 22.25"
160cm and up24"21.75 to 22"
160cm and up26"22 to 23"

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. A big wheel rides longer than its top tube number suggests, so do not compare it straight against a 20 inch.

How to measure

Stand against a wall in the shoes you ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of your head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

  • Choose a big wheel for the ride feel, not because you are tall. Plenty of tall riders stay on 20 inch.
  • Coming off a 20 inch? Expect it to feel longer and more stable, and slower to spin.

Not sure? Tell us your height and how you ride, and we will tell you what we would put you on.
