The Shadow Classic comes in four shell sizes with two sets of pads in the box.

Sizes meet at 50, 56 and 61cm. On a boundary, take the larger size and use the thicker pads.

How to measure

Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your head, about 2.5cm above your eyebrows and just above your ears. Keep it level and snug but not tight, and read the number in centimetres.

No tape measure? Use a piece of string or a shoelace, mark where it meets, then measure the string against a ruler.

Between two sizes? Most helmet brands recommend the larger size and using the thicker set of pads. A helmet should feel snug all round with no pressure points, and shouldn't rock when you shake your head.
