Description

Fit's 2026 Misfit 12" is built to make the move from a balance bike to a pedal bike easier than ever. The frame and fork have been lightened, the handlebar and crank dimensions dialled in, and an easier to pedal 23T sprocket added so the first pedal strokes come without a fight.

The details are aimed at small hands and the occasional mishap: small diameter grips, a short reach brake lever, low tension U-brake springs and a linear brake cable, plus domed axle nuts and stem bolts that take away sharp edges. A quick release seat clamp lets you adjust seat height on the fly, and curved valve stems make airing up the 12" tyres easier. There are two colourways, each with its own graphic style.

Features

Made for the balance bike graduate. A lighter frame and fork with dialled in bar and crank dimensions, so the step up to pedals is not a shock.
Easier to pedal 23T sprocket. The Fit Bite 23T into a sealed 9T cassette keeps the gearing light for short legs learning to pedal.
Controls sized for little hands. Small diameter grips and a short reach brake lever mean a young rider can actually reach and hold on.
Brakes that are easy to pull. Low tension U-brake springs and a linear brake cable make slowing down take far less hand strength.
Quick release seat clamp. Seat height can be changed on the fly as they grow, with domed axle nuts and stem bolts removing sharp edges.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

A 12 inch bike suits a rider of about 60 to 91cm, usually 2 to 4 years old, on a 12 to 12.5 inch top tube. It is the first bike after a balance bike.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. At this wheel size the top tube barely changes the fit: go by height, and check they can stand over the bike flat footed.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between two wheel sizes? Go up. Kids grow into a bike far faster than they grow out of the fun.
They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
