Description

The Kink Carve 16 Inch is for the rider who is getting serious about BMX but is not ready for the bump up to an 18". Properly proportioned geometry and components make for a modern, comfortable ride that still holds up to real riding.

Wide 2.40" tyres bring the grip, Mission Triumph 3-piece cranks bring the strength, and a sealed mid bottom bracket and sealed integrated headset keep it running smoothly. Made for all types of riding and finished in a gloss Patina Green colourway.

Features

3-piece chromoly cranks at 140mm. Mission Triumph tubular cranks put proper strength into the part of a kid's bike that cops the most abuse.
Sealed mid BB and integrated headset. Sealed bearings mean a smoother ride and far less time spent servicing the bike between sessions.
Wide 2.40" tyres. More grip for park, street and dirt, and more cushion underneath when a landing comes in hard.
Sized between 16" and 18". A 16.5" top tube and 6.75" standover fit a rider who is not ready for a larger 18" bike yet.
Cockpit built for smaller hands. Kink T700 7" bars, a Mission Topload 40mm stem, Mini Helix grips and a Mission Mini brake lever on an L1 cable.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

A 16 inch bike suits a rider of about 96 to 122cm, usually 4 to 7 years old, on a 16 to 16.5 inch top tube. It is the size most kids learn to ride properly on.

Sizes overlap on purpose, so personal preference comes into it. At this wheel size the top tube barely changes the fit: go by height, and check they can stand over the bike flat footed.

How to measure

Stand your rider against a wall in the shoes they ride in, heels flat, and mark the top of their head. Measure from the floor to the mark.

Between two wheel sizes? Go up. Kids grow into a bike far faster than they grow out of the fun.
They should be able to stand over the top tube with both feet flat on the ground.
