Description

The Z-Coaster is a hub proprietary to Profile: it works as a spring and pawl cassette hub that can be disengaged to run as a freecoaster, with varying slack options through the centre Slack-Cam Ring. It is made in the USA at the Profile factory.

Engagement comes from a Z shaped pawl that the Slack-Cam Ring engages and disengages, with a proprietary coating on the pawls and ratchet ring for smooth pick up. There are 48 points of engagement and all pawls engage at the same time, and an outer support bearing holds the oversized driver from the outside.
