Redline is a name synonymous with BMX racing since the 70s, and comes with a reputation for producing winners. If you are looking to get your kids out on the racetrack in style, then look no further than the Redline MX Expert. These mid-sized rippers are perfect for beginner riders wanting to have an absolute blast and fall in love with BMX racing. Maybe even win some races! They feature an aluminum frame to help keep the weight down and a 3 piece crank for strength. Vee Speedster tyres have been used for loads of grip on track and a Tektro Brake is on the bike, not they'll be tapping it as they go straight to the lead.

Features

Race name since the 70s. Redline has been producing winners since the 70s, and the MX Expert is the mid sized bike for a beginner learning the gate.
Light 6061 alloy frame. The alloy frame with an integrated head tube keeps the weight down, so a smaller rider can get it rolling off the gate.
3-piece cranks for strength. Race aluminium 3-piece cranks at 155mm handle the part of the bike that cops the most force, geared 38x14 for a 56.46" rollout.
Vee Speedster tyres for track grip. 20 x 1-3/8 Speedsters on alloy race rims give loads of grip through the turns.
Sorted race cockpit and brake. Alloy race bars with 4.5" rise, Redline Hex Expert grips and a Tektro 926 AL linear rear brake with matching lever.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Heights overlap between classes on purpose. Where you land in two, a growing rider is usually better on the larger, and a rider who wants the bike to turn faster on the smaller. Some brands label the Pro size Pro L, with the same fit.

Between two sizes and still growing? Take the larger size.
Racing gates and wanting the bike to turn faster? Take the smaller size.
